UK PREMIERE ON FOR THE RABBITS

I am beyond proud that For The Rabbits are premiering Bird of Paradise on their blog today accompanied by these words:  "Musically, the track is a delightfully playful slice of alt-folk, with a rhythmic acoustic guitar propelling the track forward alongside warm clarinet, fluttering piano flourishes and Hannah’s vocal, pitched somewhere between Regina Spector’s characterful delivery and Laura Marling’s near-perfect tones. The hopefulness of Spring, new growth and positive futures might not seem to have yet kicked in this year, listening to Asthmatic Harp you are reminded that they still could."

RECOMMENDED ON 27 LEGGIES

Ernie Goggins from the 27 Leggies is giving Bird of Paradise some more love: "I like it very much, and I think many of you will too. There is a very nice arrangement which enhances both her voice and the song, and I particularly like the clarinet parts by Heather Ryall - worthy of Mr Acker Bilk himself." I am super pleased that Ernie is fond of the clarinet parts which are exquisitely performed by clarinetist extraordinaire Heather Ryall.

REVIEWED IN INDEPENDENT MUSIC NEWS

Bird of Paradise has had it's first review just a week before it's official release. It could not have been better introduced than with these opening lines from Daniel Fagan:  "If the first day of spring could take the form of a song, Asthmatic Harp’s new single, Bird Of Paradise, would be it."  He then goes on to describe Bird of Paradise as "(...) the sort of music that can calm you down during the most violent of storms." and concludes the review calling the track "a beautiful and finely crafted song that takes you down a river of catchy melodies and thought-provoking lyrics."

Thank you Independent Music Review for giving Bird of Paradise such a warm welcome!

ASTHMATIC HARP MADE AWARDEE

I’m so excited to have been selected as one of the recipients of the 2019 Help Musicians UK ‘Do It Differently’ Award. It means that I will be able to move forward with something very special that I have been working on for the past year.

The award will go towards funding my new EP which will be out in 2020. It follows on from my last single releases ‘Kilburn', 'Moorgate' and 'Seven Sisters' and comes at what feels like an exciting moment in my career, where new discoveries in sound and performance have brought me to an exciting, creative path.

SUPPORTING SAM PALLADIO IN THE ROUND

The band rehearsals have begun as we will be supporting musician and actor Sam Palladio on the main stage for the upcoming In The Round Series. This is definitly our biggest show to date and it is such a huge privilige to get to support Sam. I am sure that a lot of you will  know him (and love him!) from his big musical break playing the role of country songwriter Gunnar Scott in the multi-award winning hit TV drama, Nashville in 2012.

ROUNDHOUSE RESIDENT ARTIST

I am really proud and happy to announce that I have been made a Roundhouse Resident Artist for 2018/2019. The iconic Roundhouse in Camden has had a very special place in my heart ever since I moved to London and started exploring the amazing opportunities that they put on for young people.
